Between Faith and Destiny

Grab your Bibles and lift them high in the air. And when you say this tonight I want you to mean it. “This is my Bible. I am who it says that I am. I can do what it says that I can do. And because of my Word I am made whole. Because of my Word I am delivered. Because of my Word I am set free. And because of my Word I walk victoriously. In Jesus’ Name. Somebody shout, “Glory.”

Turn in your Bibles with me to the book of Ruth. The book of Ruth tonight. When you have the book of Ruth signify by saying amen. Glory to God. The book of Ruth. I love the book of Ruth. If you don’t have your Word tonight, please get next to someone that does (amen) that you may be able to hear the Word of God and see it plainly for yourself in the Word of God. When you have the book of Ruth signify with a hearty amen. Look at verse one. It said:

1. Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.

2. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.

3. And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.

4. And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.

5. And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

Look at verse eleven.

11. And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

12. Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;

13. Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.

14. And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

15. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

Look at verse sixteen.

16. And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

17. Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

Verse eighteen.

18. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

Let us pray.

Father, we thank You tonight for who You are and for what You do. I thank You, God, for Your Word that’s quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, Lord God. I thank You, Lord, that You have Anointed me to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now, Lord, let Your head be my head, and revelate this knowledge from Your Word to me. Let my hands be Your hands, Lord God, and let my feet be Your feet and my heart be Your heart, that I may feel the way You feel about Your people, God.

I thank You that Satan is bound tonight, and forbidden to operate, that flesh will not glory in Your Presence. Father, hide Your son behind the cross, that your people would see and hear You only, and not me. Dear God, as I decrease right now, I ask humbly that You would increase. And let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

And those that agree with this prayer said amen. You may be seated in the house of the Lord.

There are times in our lives when we say to ourselves, “How did I get here?” I’m going to say that again. There are times in our lives when we say to ourselves, “How did I get here?” And whether or not it is a good place or a bad place, we ask ourselves these questions whether we speak them from a conscious mind or a subconscious mind, we ask ourselves, “How did I get to the place where I am right now?” Do you hear what I’m saying?

There are places in the spirit and there are places in the natural that are based on the experiences that we’ve had in these different situations that conclude to how we got where we are right now and this present time in this pleasant place, and this present moment. Come on, somebody, help me tonight.

Right now I came to declare to the people of God that are under the sound of my voice that you are somewhere between faith and destiny. You’re somewhere in the middle (glory to God). Because God wants to increase your faith, that you may get to the destination that God has for your life. Give God praise in this place.

Where you are right now in your life is testing everything that God said about you. You see, it’s not what you have said about yourself; it’s what God has told Satan about you. Do you hear what I’m saying tonight? God is in a position to show you off to the darkness that is in the earth, that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. God is in the process of showing you off, that though He slay you, yet will you trust Him. God is in the place right now of saying, “This is my beloved son, or daughter, in whom I am well-pleased.” Give God praise all over this house.

Oh, I feel the Anointing. You are somewhere between faith and destiny. And God has placed it in your hands. Because God has told us in His Word that we’ve got to walk by faith and not by sight. You see, if you’re in a hard place, and you begin to look at the things in the natural, and your circumstances in the natural way, then you’ll never get to where God is trying to take you, because you are blinded by your situation. He’s speaking to us.

Because I don’t know about you, but this is a defining moment in my life. You see, when my faith begins to waver, I begin to lose progress. I’m going to say that again. When my faith begins to waver, I start to lose progress. Have you ever been in a joyous place, and it felt like as if you were moving and nothing could stop you? And then all of a sudden there was a stumbling block placed in your way. You could even tell that mountain to, “Be thou removed and cast into the sea,” or you could stand there and begin to cry. But God is calling you to a place of strength where you speak to that obstacle in your way, and tell it to move. Give God praise all over this house.

Faith moves me forward, and doubt moves me down. And many saints are not being propelled forward, because they’ve allowed question marks about the promises of God to begin to cloud their thoughts. When you look at the body of Christ now, we have question marks about God, because there was so many promises that He made us that have not yet come to pass. But don’t you know that the promises of God are yea and amen? Somebody say amen.

In Psalms sixty-six and verse twelve it said:

12. . . . we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

You see, you are in a place where you’re being refined by the elements of life. But when you come out, you’re coming out into a place of abundance. But you’ve got to get the understanding that you need to hold on a little while longer and wait on God.

This is your defining moment. Somebody say, “This is my defining moment.” You see, you can’t start wavering now. Because your destiny is right in front o you.

In Psalms forty-six it says, “Though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters thereof roar and are troubled, I will not be moved.”

There are some people in here tonight that are allowing their faith to be shaken and moved. I refuse to be shaken. You can’t shake me. I know too much about God. Do you hear what I’m saying? I’ve seen the miracles. I’ve seen the signs. I’ve seen the wonders. And God is real.

He’s speaking to us. Because your at a defining moment in your life. Do you hear what I’m saying? While you’re being shaken, there will come a defining moment in your life that’s going to make you or break you. We talked about this. It’s going to make you or break you.

I refuse to be a statistic. I refuse to be a statistic. I refuse to be pushed down and pushed back, when God has anointed me for such a time as this. He’s speaking to us tonight. He’s moving.

Here we have this woman of God named Ruth. She says, “You will have to make a wise choice, and you can’t be double-minded about the decisions that you make.” And God is so merciful and gracious, and He even leaves room for us to make mistakes. If our hearts and our intentions are right, we’ll always wind up in the place where we’re supposed to be. But it’s when we allow our hearts to get all messed up, that’s when Satan leads us in the dark, and we don’t know where we’re going, and we don’t know who to trust.

We’re going somewhere with this tonight, because God is speaking to some folks. Because this is your defining moment. You haven’t had enough to make ends meet. But God is telling you to speak the Word. He said His Word would not return unto Him void, but it would accomplish everything He sent it forth to accomplish. God is saying, “Lift up holy hands without wrath and doubting, and declare that this is the day that the Lord has made.” And whether or not I got the money, I’m going to rejoice and be glad in it. Oh, glory to God. He’s speaking to us. Because this is a defining moment.

You see, when we can just sit there and act like God ain’t done nothing for you, that means you’re in a place of doubt. And though the Word is coming forth, you really don’t believe the Word. It may not be coming out of your mouth, but your expression is telling me everything about you right now.

This is our defining moment in the body of Christ right now. Because there’s some folks that been believing God for a while, but now you feel like giving up and giving in. God is saying, “Stand on your feet and give Him a shout of praise.”

I’m at a defining moment in my life. Her we have Ruth. And she’s at a defining moment in her life. And her husband is dead. And her mother-in-law tells her to go back to Moab. But something on the inside of her said she doesn’t need to go back; she needs to go forward.

You see, when you got the Holy One on the inside of you, He’s going to speak to you. And He’s going to tell you, you don’t need to back. Because back there there’s nothing waiting on you. You need to press on in the Name of Jesus. Somebody say, “My defining moment is here right now.”

You need to come out of doubt and get into faith. Because the Bible said He’s the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. He’s never changing. He’s always the same. If He said it, that settles it. It shall surely come to pass. Now you need to believe it. All things are possible to them that believe. God said call those things that are not as though they were. You got to open up your mouth and declare the word of the Lord. Hallelujah.

She said, “I’m not going back. She had a decision to make. There’s some folk in here tonight that need to make a quality decision. And you need to say, “I’m not going back.” We try to hang on to what’s familiar. We try to hang on to those things that (glory to God) seem to give us comfort. But those things that are dead, you need to leave them dead. You don’t need to try to resurrect nothing that’s dead. If it’s dead, let the dead bury the dead, and you need to press on in the Name of Jesus.

We need to stay with Him. We’re always looking for something instead of looking for God. We always stay in the vertical instead of the horizontal. We stay in the horizontal instead of the vertical. We’re always looking at the things in the earth instead of looking up, for our redemption draweth nigh.

Look up tonight. Stop looking horizontal, and hold your head up. Hold your head up and look to Jesus. Somebody lift up your hand right now. Lift up your head. You’ve got to learn to see past the ceiling. You’ve got to learn to see past the stars. You’ve got to learn to see past the what? The boundaries of your mind.

. . .a decision that’s going to keep you in the will of God. I know you want him, but he might not be for you. I know you want her, but she might not be for you. I know you want that six figure income, but it might not be for you. Make a decision that whatever that whatever He wants, that’s what you want.

Can you honestly say it? I can honestly say at this point in my life, whatever He wants, that’s what I want. That’s what I want. Somebody say, “That’s what I want.”

Some of the decisions . . . But we’ve got to get over our feelings and our emotions, and walk with God. And I want to say, “Lord, I surrender. I surrender my will. I surrender my ways. I give it all to You. None of me, but all of You. I’m decreasing right now, that You would increase in me.” Hallelujah. Thank You, Jesus.

Just begin to wave your hands to the Lord.
